Expectations for AC Milan this season
With the 2016/17 season of Serie A football now around three months old, AC Milan have continued their decent start to the season by claiming an away win against Palermo in their most recent match. Goals from Suso and Lapadula were enough to give the men in red and black the points, ensuring them their eighth win from the twelve matches played thus far. With just three defeats, Milan currently sit in third spot in the table, suggesting that they could be genuine contenders for title glory this season, after years of disappointment.

The bookmakers certainly think that Milan are contenders for the league - although the current odds put them some way behind the hot favourites Juventus. While the latter are rated 1/6 hot favourites to win Serie A, Milan have odds of 33/1 - making them fourth favourites in the eyes of the bookies. This seems a tad harsh given their league position and the fact that they sit just five points behind league leaders Juventus, but is perhaps reflective of the inability of Milan to mount a real challenge in recent seasons. For instance, in the 2015/16 season they finished the campaign in seventh spot - a distant 34 points behind league champions Juventus - and 2014/15 was even worse for them, as they languished in tenth position in the table. For this reason, bookmakers and pundits are perhaps sceptical of their ability to maintain the pace, but the recent 1-0 home victory over defending champions Juventus could perhaps be taken as a sign that this Milan team has more talent and resilience. The club has a new manager, in the shape of Vincenzo Montella, who is the third person to occupy the manager's office there during the last two seasons. Montella has brought in a number of new players - including striker Gianluca Lapadula, who scored his first goal for the club in the win over Palermo, having only been on the field for three minutes. He had an impressive scoring record prior to signing for the Rossoneri and if he finds that form again in the red and black it would be a huge boost for the club's chances of rivalling Juventus for the title.

Montella moved to improve the team in all areas during the summer, bringing in defenders Gustavo Gomez and Leonel Vangioni, as well as midfielder Jose Sosa. Their chances of maintaining the pace also depend on existing stars like Giacomo Bonaventure replicating his 2015/16 form. It is difficult to say whether Milan can remain in the hunt until the end of the season, but betting on a football slot like Soccer Safari at an online casino lets you gamble on football with a little less risk. It offers higher odds of a payout, with its multiple pay lines, and also lets you keep an eye on the action and decide whether or not Milan are worth a title punt.

Should you win the Soccer Safari top jackpot and Milan win the league, you will be quids in.
